Deployment plans & opportunities

Please send us any information on your deployment plans, or where you can provide a deployment opportunity for buoys from other IPAB participants.

A good deployment opportunity is any ship cruise or aircraft flight, visiting or passing through/over a region of sea ice which has a good chance to survive for some months after the deployment.

Maps of planed ship cruises

For IPY, ship cruises are coordinated by international programmes like e.g. iAnzone (International Antarctic Zone Programme) and the CLIVAR/CliC Southern Ocean Climate Observation Panel. Below, links are shown to the planning maps of the respective programmes. A coordinated IPAB deployment was compiled during IPAB IPY Meeting in Hobart, July 11 2006.
